The Republican Party Parish Executive Committees (PECs) of Jefferson and Saint Tammany Parishes voted earlier this week to formally endorse Bill Cassidy for the United States Senate. Jefferson and Saint Tammany Parishes have the first and third most Republicans in the state, respectively. These endorsements come after the Louisiana Republican Party announced its formal endorsement of Cassidy last month.
“These endorsements show Dr. Cassidy continues to gain momentum and demonstrate his ability to draw support from across the state,” Republican Party of Louisiana Executive Director Jason Doré said. “With his solid conservative track record and exceptional service to Louisiana as a doctor and an elected official, Dr. Cassidy will continue to build a statewide movement that will defeat Obama rubber stamp Mary Landrieu this fall.”
In addition to the PEC endorsements, Cassidy received the endorsement of radio host and gun rights activist Tom Gresham on Thursday.
Cassidy’s conservative record includes 100 percent ratings from National Right to Life, the Family Research Council, the National Federation of Independent Business, the Chamber of Commerce and an 'A' rating from the NRA.
