Catch and Release Immigration Policy Leads to Louisiana Murder

This weekend, the border crisis came to Louisiana. A man illegally in the United States from Honduras came to Louisiana and allegedly murdered a woman in Metairie. The alleged murderer was previously captured by Border Patrol agents in Texas and let go as part of the Obama Administration catch and release policy that Mary Landrieu has failed to stop.

Mary Landrieu has been almost completely silent on security crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border, including doing nothing to refute Harry Reid’s assertion that the border is secure. Senator Landrieu’s action – or lack thereof – speaks volumes.

“The Democrat catch and release policy has directly led to the murder of a woman in Louisiana,” Republican Party of Louisiana Executive Director Jason Doré said. “How can the people of Metairie and the rest of Louisiana feel safe when their neighbor was murdered by an illegal alien who just crossed the border?

“Senator Landrieu can’t hide from her record on border security anymore – her inaction and lack of concern has endangered the lives of countless Louisianians, and paints a shocking picture of where her priorities lie. There are probably countless other dangerous people in our state illegally as a result of Mary Landrieu’s inaction."
